Customer Rating: Summary: Confused about Estate/Gift Tax? This book is your friend. Comment: I would never suggest to a law student that he or she altogether abandon his textbook in favor of a commercially-available supplement; that's why they call them "supplements" instead of "substitutes." However, to any student who finds him- or herself pressed for time with the final exam looming just days away, I might suggest that you can learn as much from this book in a couple of days as you are likely to learn from your $200 textbook in the course of a semester spent studying the estate and gift tax.
This book does a great job of staying on point, explaining challenging concepts in "regular person" language, discussing relevant cases only as necessary (without belaboring them), and providing realistic examples without digressing too far from the core subject matter. I didn't get the highest grade in the class as some other reviewers claim, but I went from completely confused to fairly confident in the subject matter in the space of about three days.
