Summary: Horrible take on the Fair Tax!
Comment: I am not a huge fan of the fair tax, but I decided to buy this book and one pro-fair tax book and form a more educated opinion.

This book was a complete disappointment. The pro-fair tax book was educated, had a ton of information and statistics in it. This anti-fair tax book was full of rumors, cheap selling points, and no real basis for disagreement.

I am still not convinced on the merits of the fair tax, but this book is not worth reading if you are trying to form an informed opinion. Good luck in your intellectual search, I would avoid using this as a reference.

Summary: Disgusted
Comment: Pitiful, the author obviously did very little research on the fairtax or just doesn't give a damn about what he found. He compares it to a VAT on several cases with is completely off base since fairtax only charges a tax to the final consumer. The author makes a fool out of himself and displays his lack of knowledge about the founding ideals of America and the way the economy and current tax system function. If you do decide to waste your time and money to read this book be sure to read The FairTax Book by Neal Boortz. After that do a fact check on the internet and see which author is misleading you. I guarantee it's not Boortz.

Summary: Only the Product Description
Comment: All I had to do was read the poorly written Product Description to know that this book isn't worth reading. And from reading other reviews if the author is the one that wrote the Product Description I can be pretty sure that they either never took an economics or business course or received poor grades in any that they did take. I can further assert that they have scored poorly in the school of hard knocks as well. 1. Will the Fair Tax be revenue neutral? It attempts to be, but tax revenue will probably increase due to increased economic growth. Of course government will grow so it can spend the extra revenue. They would never think to pay off all the debt they've saddled us with. 2. Will 23% be sufficient? Yes, but is any amount of tax ever sufficient for government bureaucrats? 3. Will Employers pay the Payroll and Withholding tax to their Employees currently being deducted from their checks, or will they Keep it? Whose is it to start with? The employees don't own the jobs or the revenue of the business. The business owner does. It is the owner who is taking the risks and they own the rewards. If the employees are worth more, the owner will pay them more. 4. How much will the Fair-tax Prebate Cost? A lot less than Welfare. 5. Will the Fair-tax effect the amount of our Social Security Benefits? Yes, we'll actually get them instead of the system going bankrupt. We'll also have more money to invest in our own personal retirement accounts which won't go away when we die like Social Security benefits do. 6. Will we have to start Paying the Fair-tax on items Not Currently Tax Now? Yes, haven't you read the Fair Tax book? We already pay imbedded taxes on everything so everything is already being taxed. Duh. 7. Will the cost of goods and services Increase, because of the Fair-tax? NO. That's the concept of revenue neutrality and removing the imbedded taxes. There will be a transition time when prices will be all over the place, but that is called the marketplace. 8. Who will the Fair-tax Benefit and Burden the most? Everyone. Just like today some will benefit and some will be burdened. I suppose you think everyone benefits equally under socialism since that seems to be the form of government you'd prefer. There. I've written a review of a book I haven't even read based on the questions in the Product Description. Please send a donation to the charity of your choice in lieu of purchasing this book. Unless of course you need bird cage lining.

Summary: Can Amazon please remove this item?
Comment: I'm not one for denial of free speech, but this book should fall under false advertising. A friend recommend the Fair Tax Book so I ordered the original, along with the follow on, and wanting to get both sides of the issue, I also ordered A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. This is not a book; this is a rant which is poorly written, with poor spelling, grammar, as well as being incapable of making a point... if there's a point to be made by Mr. Warwick as well.

Summary: The rating should be no stars
Comment: Pure opinion from a 1997 WVU graduate, teaching history in a middle school. Self-publication can be a dangerous thing, if readers don't bother to check the credentials of the author. Hopefully, material of this kind will be recognized for what it is and not taken as useful information.
