Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Terrible Textbook Comment: This casebook/textbook is one of the worst textbooks I have not had the pleasure to use during my legal education. The textbook made it through 14 editions yet is still filled errors, mistake, and tons of typo's. The subject organization is poor and the sections are not well seperated i.e. review questions in the middle of the sections, and then the section continues after the questions without an obvious break leaving you always wondering what section you are currently reading. The reason it gets 2 stars rather than 1 is because at least it is comprehensive and full of material that is otherwise had to find, specifically about comparative economies such as the EU and Japan. Editorial Reviews: This casebook is an authoritative introduction to international finance, transactions, policy, and regulations. The continuing expansion of U.S. capital market regulation is a major topic, as is the implementation of international accounting standards. The book is divided into five parts. Part One deals with the international aspects of major domestic markets; Part Two with infrastructure for financial markets; Part Three with instruments and offshore markets; Part Four with emerging markets; and Part Five with the fighting of terrorism. While the approach of this book is rooted in government policy and regulation, the book introduces students to basic financial concepts and transactions. The conception of the field is original and complements existing texts written for finance or economics courses.
