I did it the first time when my son was 1 month old, on his back holding his ankles up, like when I change his diaper. It worked fine, and I could hold him still for the 10 seconds until it beeped. He didn't even seem to notice it was there.
I think it's very accurate. When I've thought his temp was high, it's read 99.8 or 99.1. So I know not to worry yet. Customer Rating: Summary: Must have for newborns!!
